Greyhound Rescue JerseyTel: 01534 742 619 |
In 1995, we read an article in a newspaper on the plight of racing greyhounds after their racing days were over. This prompted us to take on our first greyhound, a 6 year old male.
Chappie arrived on 4th July and after 3 baths, we discovered he was white and brindle! Having raced the length and breadth of the UK, he so deserved a happy retirement. Tragically, it was short lived and at the age of 7 he was diagnosed with a calcification of the spine and we had to put him to sleep.
Having discovered that 10,000 greyhounds like Chappie needed homes each year, when approached by the national organiser of the Retired Greyhound Trust to establish a local Rescue Centre here in Jersey, it seemed the obvious path to follow.
We are currently celebrating our 15th Anniversary having homed 181 dogs here in Jersey, Guernsey, Sark and Alderney.

Cat Action Trust 1977Tel: 01534 631 113 |
Cat Action Trust 1977 Jersey is committed to helping feral and abandoned cats and by neutering help to reduce the incidence of diseases such as FIV(feline aids) and FeLV(feline leukaemia). We rehome whenever possible and would only put cats to sleep on veterinary advice to prevent further suffering
The Trust are more than happy to help anyone who is unable to rehome their feral or domestic cats and kittens however we are unable to take in pedigree or longhaired cats. We also help with cheap neutering for people on low incomes.
If you have kittens that you cannot cope with please ring Jean first on 631113 to arrange a time to deliver them. We much prefer people to give us the cats rather than liberating them into the wild where kittens will probably die. By giving us the kittens you have enabled them to find new homes. We will be happy to help with spaying the mother cat to avoid more unwanted litters.
